hey just an idea -- if you put up the actual songs, it will probably bring in a bunch of traffic from HypeMachine.. and thus increase the likelihood that the Kanye piece gets spread to a wider audience

I would agree with you 100% about a month ago. However, the new Hype Machine doesn't really drum up any traffic anymore unless you're the first one to post a song, and since pretty much all of these songs have been posted before, uploading them all would more or less just be an exercise in time wasting and temptation of the RIAA.

I've posted my Kanye piece on several forums, tweeted about it, posted it on reddit, and put it as my Facebook status. I've tried every avenue I can to get my work out there. I've postulated several problems:

(1) I'm not Pitchfork/GvB/Aquarium Drunkard/etc., so no one cares what I have to say.
(2) Because I'm a full-time student and I had to tend to those obligations before I could devote four all-nighters over winter break to this, people assume I've just reiterated what's already been said because it didn't come out before MBDTF's release. The thing about the internet is that, to many, the new Kanye album is ancient history because it's over a month old now and there's a new album out there by now to hype and anticipate.
(3) The piece is just not good.

I need to make a viral video or something. Or pair it with the next Derphead release. I don't know.

Regardless, I appreciate the suggestion, Anonymous. Hope at least you enjoyed it.

Thanks,
Discouraged
