Okay, so today's Song of the Day is not really a song per se, but I don't think you'll be disappointed...
First thing's first, you're going to need a pair of headphones in order to properly experience this recording. Referred to as a "binaural recording," this kind of captured sound is achieved using a special recording technique that uses a dummy human head that is outfitted with microphones placed strategically inside the ear molds (like this), which essentially recreates the hearing we do on a day-to-day basis. This may not sound particularly extraordinary, but what results from this process is an I-feel-like-I'm-really-there sonic experience. It's important, however, not to confuse binaural with stereo, as stereo doesn't take into account the spacing between one's ears or one's "head shadow".
Now, follow these directions: put on your headphones (it's vitally important that you put the left earphone on the left ear and the right earphone on the right), find a spinning chair, put on a bib, and get ready to listen to today's "Song" of the Day...
